As we did all those visits I was struggling with doubt about this whole process. How will God ever allow our little 'ole church to have a tremendous youth program? We were obedient to what God would have us do and kept knocking on doors. I didn't see much of an improvement before I left for school, but can I tell you I had one of the most joyous nights last Thursday when my pastor called and told me that we had filled up that 15 passenger van and had a total of 35+ kids and workers for our youth program! If I could have found a mountain top at the time he told me that I would have just been praising the Lord all night and telling the whole town of Buckhannon how good He was to me and my church. Our small little church, which averages just a little under 50 on Sunday mornings had just around 30 kids last Wednesday! My God can do anything...and this shows it!
So as I sit here tonight and recollect on those visits and those kids, my heart is breaking for that little area. I want to be there...I want to help out...I want to see what God has in store for Lens Creek...but that will have to wait. As you pray this week...remember Lens Creek...remember the pastor and leadership at the church...and pray that God would keep this church going in the direction he would have it!!
